  Atlantic Fish Bar was recommended to us by my brother-in-law, and it was well worth the visit.  It's slightly out of the way, as it's not on the waterfront - BUT, you do get to see a little bit more of Weston-Super-Mare and appreciate how quaint it is.  
  
  We had a cod and chips (yes, I know it's not eco-friendly, but how can I do a proper comparison against other fish and chip shops? I would have to go back round them all again, eating something else... although, that sounds rather appealing now!) and a grilled mackerel bap (taking the recommended eco-friendly option... so it was balanced, sort of...).  Anyways, both were really good - the cod had an extremely crispy and light batter, which I was impressed with.  However, the winning dish for us was the mackerel bap - we don't eat much mackerel at home, but will be trying it more often now.  Have it grilled with horse radish or tartare sauce - it's really great (we even ordered one to take away for the rest of the family!).  As further evidence of how good the food is, we had just eaten a piece of haddock from one of the fish and chip shops on the waterfront (we were on a fish and chips mission) - and still managed to clear our plates! Hehe...
  
  Really enjoyed it and would go back next time we are in Weston-Super-Mare.

  A trad fish bar in the back streets of Weston-Super-Mare.  Delicious cod and chips in what feels like a recently refurbished room.  Carpet could do with replacing but a minor grumble.
  
  For kids the menu includes fish bites, real chicken breast nuggets, or Sausages.  All come with mushy peas or beans and chips and a fruit shoot or Capri sun.
  
  Toilets are clean and well maintained.
  
  2 adults, plus two kids and a pot of tea for two came to £34.10

  Really good. Char grilled, gluten free, quick service. Top quality fish and chips. We found this through yelp, and went as 10 people without a reservation. We were seated immediately and had our food within 20 mins. Not fine dining, just top quality.

  This has to be one of the best chip shops, restaurants I've been to for a very long time. And I have been to a few. Would highly recommend here for both sit down and take a way meals. Well done.

  Very good fish and chips. Good choice, and nice and fresh.  Short walk from the seafront. Very pleasant staff.
